The Ritmundo Foundation’s main purpose as purveyor of culture is to develop new events and initiatives in the field op popular music.
Stan Rijven (Den Haag, 1949) is a music publicist, DJ and purveyor of popular culture. He has been a DJ since 1971 and a pop critic since 1979 for various publications, including in the Dutch daily newspaper Trouw and was a pioneer in documenting the rise of world music culture in various Dutch media that included the magazines Afrika and Beyond, television documentaries for the Dutch broadcasters (AVRO, NPS) and radio programmes for (RVU, VPRO).
He was one of the founding members of PAN (Pop Archive Netherlands), IASPM (International Association for the Study of Popular Music) and World Music Forum NL.
Rijven is in great demand as a speaker and guest lecturer at conservatories and universities.
Sonja Heimann is a producer, communications-advisor and coach mainly active in the cultural sector.Sonja graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 1991 specializing in cultural media and popular culture. She has extensive experience in marketing communication for performing arts venues, and the music, broadcasting and film worlds. Besides supervising public events her main focus is on developing new cultural initiatives and organising knowledge platforms and (network) meetings for professionals. She coaches creative individuals and also counsels service industries undergoing change or reorganisation. Her main aim is to inspire others through stimulating creativity, exchanging knowledge and fostering teamwork.
